The Richards Bay SPCA handles investigations and convictions of animal cruelty, perfoms rescues and provides safe housing for rescued animals, strays and surrended animals.
You can anonymously report animal cruelty to the Richards Bay SPCA. We will conduct a thorough investigation into the complaint, following all the legal procedures and take appropriate measures to safeguard the animals involved to ensure the welfare of the animals are met, to provide them with a better future and appropriate care.
A home inspection will be done prior to approving an adoption. A fee of R100 will be charged. Once approved you will make payment and the animal will be sterilised, dewormed, vaccinated and micro chipped before going home.
In the event of a stray animal being hit by a vehicle on the road, please do not drive by and leave the animal to suffer. Call us to collect the animal and provide medical attention, or remove the carcass if deceased.
The Richards Bay SPCA is proud to offer the following services to pet owners at affordable prices.
Free! – Bring your cat or dog to the Richards Bay SPCA during our office hours: Mondays to Fridays from 08h00-15h00 and Saturdays from 08h00–12h00.
R250 – A microchip provides permanent identification for your pet and gives them the best chance of being reunited with you, should they happen to go missing.
Protect your pet from harmful parasites with our deworming treatment. Regular deworming helps prevent health issues like weight loss, digestive problems, and a dull coat. R35 per tablet to keep your furry friend happy and healthy.
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy. Our compassionate euthanasia service ensures a peaceful and dignified passing. R500 if you bring your pet to us, or R750 for a home visit or collection.
